Even the most expert teacher will have failed his calling without care for his students. A teacher can still care deeply for his students without being their friend. Caring means thinking about the student's welfare, planning individual assessments to suit particular needs, staying back after school to provide extra tutoring, counseling and providing guidance. Above all else, it should be the ideal calling for anyone wanting to be a teacher. When teachers can teach with the best of them and still remember to care, they can proudly lay claim to be the most noble of professions.
